The short & plain-English version

Squigglin is a fun, lighthearted drawing game created by Ecotone Labs, LLC. We aren’t taking your money, we aren’t tracking your personal life, and we don’t want to bug you. Draw cool things, don’t be toxic, and enjoy the game. You keep the copyright in what you draw; you give us permission to host and show it inside the game. Everything else — the Squigglin name, the app, the daily blobs — is ours. There is zero tolerance for hateful, sexual, or abusive content, and anyone who posts it loses their account.

1. Acceptance of these terms

This document is both our Terms of Service and our End User License Agreement (together, the “Terms”) between you and Ecotone Labs, LLC (“Licensor,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) for Squigglin, available at squigglin.com and as a mobile application (collectively, the “App”).

The App presents these Terms for your acceptance the first time you use it, and again whenever we make a material change. By tapping to accept, by creating an account, or by otherwise accessing or playing the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. You must accept these Terms before you can submit a drawing, cast a vote, or otherwise post content. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

If you are under the age of 18, you may use the App only with the involvement and permission of a parent, guardian, or teacher, who agrees to these Terms on your behalf.

2. License grant

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable, limited license to download, install, and play Squigglin on compatible devices that you own or control, strictly subject to this EULA and relevant app store terms.

3. Privacy & monetization philosophy

No money / subscriptions: We do not ask for your money, subscriptions, or hidden in-app purchases.

No user tracking: We do not track your personal activities across other apps or sell your data to brokers.

Hosting costs & future ads: To help cover server and operational expenses, Ecotone Labs, LLC reserves the right to display unobtrusive advertisements or third-party ad network banners within the App in the future.

Future transfer or sale: Ecotone Labs, LLC reserves the right to transfer, assign, or sell the App, its code, assets, and branding to a third-party investor or acquiring entity. In such an event, your license to use the App will continue seamlessly under the successor owner.

4. Your content and the license you give us

Squigglin lets you draw over the day’s blob and share the result with other players.

You keep ownership. As between you and us, you retain all copyright and other rights you have in the original drawings you create (“User Content”). Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of your User Content to us.

The license you grant us. When you submit User Content, you grant Ecotone Labs, LLC a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable (only to our hosting and infrastructure providers) license to host, store, back up, reproduce, adapt for technical purposes (for example, generating thumbnails and resizing), publicly display, publicly perform, and transmit that User Content:

to operate, provide, and render gameplay in the App — the daily gallery, the leaderboard, archives, and your profile history;
to promote the App itself — for example, showing standout squiggles on our own store listings, website, or social channels — without identifying you by any name other than your public Squigglin handle, and never in paid third-party advertising for another product.

This license exists only so we can run and show off Squigglin. It ends for future uses when you delete the User Content or your account (see section 7), except that we may retain server backup copies for a commercially reasonable period and keep copies already shared with other players as part of a past day’s gallery.

Your promises about your content. You represent that your User Content is your own original work, that you have the right to grant this license, and that it does not infringe anyone else’s intellectual property, privacy, or other rights.

5. Zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users

Squigglin has a zero-tolerance policy for objectionable content and abusive behavior. You agree not to create, submit, or share User Content, and not to behave toward other users, in any way that is:

illegal, or that promotes illegal activity;
hateful, or that demeans or attacks people based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, gender, age, sexual orientation, or gender identity;
sexually explicit, pornographic, or that sexualizes minors in any way;
violent, graphic, or intended to shock or disgust;
harassing, bullying, threatening, or that targets another person;
infringing on another party’s intellectual property or privacy;
spam, advertising, or an attempt to manipulate votes or the leaderboard.

Reporting. Every drawing in the App has a report control. When you report a drawing it is immediately hidden from public view and sent to us for human review. We aim to review every report within 24 hours and will remove content that violates these Terms. You can also email support@ecotone-labs.com.

Enforcement. We may remove any User Content without notice, and we may suspend or permanently terminate the account of any user who violates this section or who abuses other users — at our sole discretion and, for serious violations, on the first offense. We may also report illegal content to law enforcement.

Filtering. Public identity fields such as your username and handle are automatically screened for profanity and slurs before they can be used.

6. Our intellectual property

The App and everything in it other than User Content — including the Squigglin name and logo, the daily “blob” shapes, the source code, the visual design, the fonts and layout, the copy on this site, and all related trademarks, trade dress, and branding (collectively, the “Platform IP”) — is owned by Ecotone Labs, LLC or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. All rights in the Platform IP not expressly granted to you in these Terms are reserved by Ecotone Labs, LLC.

Your license to use the App (section 2) does not give you any right to use the Platform IP except as needed to play the game as intended. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or create derivative works from the Platform IP; use the Squigglin name or logo without our prior written permission; or remove or obscure any proprietary notice.

If you send us feedback or suggestions about the App, you grant us a perpetual, royalty-free license to use them without obligation to you.

7. Usage restrictions and termination

You agree that you will not:

Decompile, reverse engineer, or attempt to extract the source code of the App.
Use automated scripts, bots, or scrapers to overload server resources or exploit gameplay.
Sub-license, rent, sell, or redistribute the App binary to third parties.

These Terms remain effective until terminated. Your rights under this license terminate automatically if you breach any term. We may also suspend or terminate your access at any time for the reasons described in section 5. Upon termination you must stop using, and delete, the App.

Deleting your account: You may delete your Squigglin account at any time from your profile screen in the App. Deleting your account permanently removes your account, your profile and handle, every drawing you have made, and the votes you have cast. This action cannot be undone.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. ECOTONE LABS, LLC DOES NOT GUARANTEE THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR AVAILABLE AT ALL TIMES.

9. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ECOTONE LABS, LLC, ITS MEMBERS, OFFICERS, AND OPERATORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES RESULTING FROM YOUR USE OR INABILITY TO USE THE APP.

10. App store standard clauses

This agreement is between you and Ecotone Labs, LLC only, not Apple Inc. or Google LLC. Apple and Google are not responsible for the App, its content, or maintenance and support services. You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo and are not on any U.S. Government restricted-parties list. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If a change is material, we will present the updated Terms in the App for your acceptance before you continue to post content. The “Last updated” date above always reflects the current version.
